|..Response to What is a blog?..|
Blogs are a fascinating tool to use when you have a lot of things you wish to discuss with the internet world. You can post various things from what you believe in to what you dislike. People will be able to read your style of writing and also discover your point of view in the world about whatever you write about. I was also surprised by the fact that Tim Jarrett said that blogs are completely different than webpages. I was really wondering how this could be because blogs are basically on the web, but how are they different?! Well, blogs are different from general web pages in frequency, intent, and practice. Blogs are subjective to your own opinion and you can write about whatever you want, however you want to write it. All of your blogs will stay together in one website and none of your comments or posts will be deleted unlike on other websites or online forums. According to Jarrett, "Blogs are personally published documents on the web, with attribution and date, collected in a single place, generally published with a satic structure to facilitate incoming links from other sources, and updated with some regularity and frequency from every few days to serveral times daily."

Blogs have many useful tools that can be used to help you in many ways like in school or just to get your view across. Blogs have the ability to empower someone because they just have a blog site. Blogs can let you say whatever you want about any topics like the presidental election to the war in Iraq. Everyone can get a say in what the news really is and if any of the newspapers are being basised towards one side. We, the people can blog and tell our side of the story. We can say if Obama is going to be a bad president or MaCain is going to be the next Bush. There are man ways to get power on the internet and make your voice heard through blogs. With all your opinions in your own blog, it is important to have all your posts saved so you can always refer back to any previous post or if you want to publish your years worth of entries, you can always go print it striaght from your blog. With your many posts already online, you can build great relationships with people all over the world including many professors that might happen to come across your blog by chance. Then you will have a chance to gain knowledge from different universities.
