|..What is Art 2..|

I do not think this picture represents art at all because it did not evoke any of my emotions. A dog covered in money doesn’t represent anything to me because it’s just like creating a dog. It is art in a way that he is being very creative, but it is not the way I see art. It has to also have a theme or message which the image does have. It has the theme of money to me. I don’t know if the artist is trying to say that a dog is worth a lot of money or something, but I guess that’s an artist’s opinion and not mine. So, he does meet the communication part. Maybe he is trying to say his dog that died or something and is worth a lot of money. It is a tribute to him with his dog tag used in his art. This dog art piece also got me thinking a lot about what he was trying to say and got me thinking a lot. Was he trying to tell us how much he cared about his dog or was he just trying to make a very expensive art piece?

Art should be creative.
Art should get viewers thinking.
Art should convey a message from the artist.
If it doesn’t have meaning, it’s not art.
If it doesn’t messages contain messages, it’s not art.
If it doesn’t show creativity, it’s not art.

Most of the questions I answered are true for this art piece. It contains an uplifting theme, made viewers think, and also formed a connection between the artist and viewer. It did not evoke any of my emotions though. It surprised me that I choose feelings because I didn’t think I would care about any feelings from a picture, but I think it it can make you feel sad or happy, it should be art. Art can really change someone so I included it. I thought the message and theme should be involved along with thinking because it really is in every single art piece even if the artist did not intend to put it there. People will always try to think too much or think of something that it represents. So, that is why I included that, but it didn’t surprise me that I choose that. My ideals about art changed with feeling. I think I’m going to be thinking about what feelings were involved while I look at art. Feelings have changed my thought on art. Even if it seems like a sad feeling or happy one, I’ll know I’ll feel something from pictures. It can cheer me up or bring me sorrow.
